Airport
There have been more flights in and out of the airport of late,
one of the reasons being that Easyjet now fly from there to several
destinations. Even with the change of regulations to allow QC4 aircraft
to fly at night, the Parish Council has not been made aware of any
serious increase in night-time noise.
Police
Due to the increased use of the airport, the police officers stationed
there can no longer be utilised to patrol the surrounding villages.
The area from Old Cantley, Branton, Auckley (including the area
formerly known as “the camp”) Blaxton and through to
Finningley, will now come under one PC based at Rossington, with
the assistance of one PCSO.
The PACT (Police and Community Together) meetings which have been
held in the various villages covered by the police at the airport
and changed location each month, are henceforth to be held at Bawtry
and Tickhill only; the name is also being changed to “Have
Your Say”. Why the villages have been cut out we have not
been informed, but protests will be made.
Playing Field Shelter
Petitions were presented to Doncaster MBC planning department against
the installation of a shelter on the playing field. A further petition,
signed by users of the field, was presented in favour of having
it. Both views were amongst the various factors taken into account
when the planning department decided to approve the installation
of the shelter. It should be noted that this facility is intended
for all users of the field, not just a particular age group or type
of user.
